    There are thousands of original German ones still in use here.

    Kraftstoff ( fuel) or wasser ( water) stamped on the side of them.

    If rusty either mechanical cleaning or acid removal paste applied. If washing out, petrol is fine, tip out and let the residue evaporate. Don't overthink it...

    Sand and water inside the can and put in the concrete mixer for an hour or two cleans up the inside.

    Thank you gents for the tips but considering the costs of cleaning it, then buy a new one may is a better choice for me.

    If you need some diesel to stick in those jerry cans, its $1.67/L at Atiamuri for the next day and a half

    Seller says "almost new" and already rusting = Chinese. Steel will also be half the thickness of a European manufactured one.
