Yeah, those rubber/plastic holders are pretty solid. We have them on big heavy doors on the horse float. You push them in to lock and it takes a good pull to unlock them.

I'm keen on doing some trail rides. Back surgery has buggered me up for the last 18 months, and I am currently two weeks post my last surgery now but should be good to go in about 8 weeks.
I have never been but Honda Park at Maramarua Forest hold quad/SxS only days on a monthly basis. https://www.silverbullet.co.nz/event.php?id=16217
There is supposed to be a huge number of tracks in there to explore.
There are also a number of fund raising rides around that look interesting, but a lot of them are non-quad.

@hotbarrels yeah mate, would be keen as when your recovered.
I too have been looking at the same trail ride, Greg Powers ? And he does the odd night one.
Never been to one of those events, but keen to give it a go hence I went and got me a Kodiak.
It’s a pity, I can’t seem to find a social quad club in Auckland, I heard they had one ages ago.
@NZShoota I just did my first mod to my Kodiak, used a silver sharpie to highlight gear stick positions, ffs why they ever thought not having them stand out from the factory is beyond me, but 2mins of careful sharpie work, it’s made a world of difference.

Right so, a week of watching YouTube clips on how to wire in relays, 5-6 trips back and forth to Supercheap/Repco, a few eyes and fingers crossed and no electrocutions or explosions I think I did it.
The mounting of the LED light bar was a real pain as the brush bars drop in the centre so it’s not flush mounted unless I shim or bend the side brackets, but it’s secured and holding.
Wired it into the high beam so I can use the existing switch, 3 wires behind the 3rd light on the handle bars, the hot wire is the yellow one with black stripe coming from the bike, the black is already grounded coming up from the bike so I used that to run a splitter for the bar and halo.
LED Halos, wired in a whites handle bar switch 20mm and decided to tap into 12v DC jack, but on the harness side, so if I stuff it up I just reorder the jack connector.

Looks that will throw some light.

I got my winch mounted and wired up last week. Only boo boo was pulling a live feed from the wrong spot which resulted in not being able to winch while in gear. Easy fixed.
Got out for a three day weekend on my Grizzly and had a ball.
They sure handle differently to a 4wd.

Had a bit of everything. Rocks where you wanted a lower gear, bogs and ruts to play in, water crossings galore and clear runs where you could let it run. 50km of fun!
