The ones my company bought had the old F head engines - ex WWII surplus initially maybe?
The chassis on them was good and they went well in the shit if you could handle the distinctive whining engine noise.
It was the Mahindra carriagework that was shite. Lots of wood which fell to bits quickly. Also very small in the back for carrying much and safety wise they would not pass muster nowadays.
