    As above,I found a "Turfor" for $24
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

Getting the blood darined and replaced tomorrow. Could be up to 15ltrs the guy reckons for everything! Will look into new shocks as they sounds like a good idea. Also will gather recovery gear as I go...

    Tyres are okay for now...

I have done quite a bit of 4WDing and I dont intend to get into club stuff so I should be okay.

Might just get a hi-lift jack which kit. Slow but will get me backwards if I cant go forward. I have access to a Turfa if need be...

a tyre pressure guage - amazing what you can get through with dropped tyre pressures.

drive slowly back to the nearerest garage and save up for a decent compressor - forget the cheap jobs - adding 20psi to 4 tyres can take for ever.

A short wire strop to run across your hitch points - shares the load across 2 points, not just one - I have some wire here (Invercargill) - Bridon's will sort for you for minimal cost.

Ground anchor for said winch; I'll build one for you like mine - ball park $200 but they're solid. Alternative is buy some warratahs, cut them in half, drill a hole big enough near top for your shackles - a least 3 spikes required for a decent hold remember so a length of chain to link the 3 also required.

Use only rated shackles and strops.

Some of those heavy duty cable-ties. Ideal for tying back lose links on your chains, holding the end of your rope on a hitch point whilst driving etc.

Cheap tarpaulin to lay on whilst you're attaching chains and looking for that rattle underneath the truck

If you're ever down this way I'd be happy to talk about going out for a drive/hunt

Lots of good advice I see. Just the usual. Upgrade the suspension, strengthen the chassis, gruntier running gear, .....

In no time it will look like this.

    Oops, forgot the picture.

I agree though, for what you are after you shouldn't need to do much. First thing I normally add is bog roll and jumper leads, then do the oils and filters, chains, shovel and a snorkel.

Currently has 31x10.5R15 size tyres on it. Much benefit in going to 32 or 33 inch tyres?

    Rancho brand shocks okay?

Na not sure what socks are on there currently, rancho ones seemed cheap at 4wdbits... It is currently getting dark just after 5 in Dunedin at the moment and we haven't seen the sun in 4 days so will have a closer look soon...

Guess that means I should get a turbo put on then! Maybe one day...
    Cheers.

That's them , work out the maximum min length you can run so the shocks can't bottom out and get them, longer is better for articulation which means traction
