Anyone care to explain a bit more about suspension to me? In particular:
    What are anti-inversion shackles?
Is it an easy job to replace a few bushes? Supplier?

Some times your shackels can turn inside out sort of and this locks up your suspension.
Those kits are just a bar to prevent it doing this. Could weld one on yourself easy as

Is it a real risk? I mean what happens if your shackels do that?

You back that corner into a hole and pop it round with a bar or hammer

Jaysus, feel a bit bad for you mate! Toyota Stealer Ship? Or private garage? The one and only time I got my Cruiser fully serviced at a private place it cost me like $400-500 bucks. I use them ocassionally when I can't be F'd doing things myself, because they're good young guys just starting out. Last month they fitted and balanced four 33 inch tyres for $130+gst....I told them next time to charge me more. I usually get Dad to do it on his own machine, but dont live at home anymore. Two tyre places in town told me they charge $60 per tyre to fit and balance if the tyre isn't bought through them! Holy crap...thats a 5th tyre!

Stealerships on the other hand, I've asked a few times "out of curiousity but with ""the intention"" of getting them to do it" what a full oil and fluid service would cost but have never established "a price" with them. It always "depends". Depends on what? They must do hundreds of them and have a fairly good idea of what a 100 series cruiser or a hilux needs. More like, how much does this guy know and how much can we get away with ripping him off?! Thats what I reckon!

If you ever take a vehicle to a garage, never say "you have no idea about vehicles" because they always throw "a few extras in there", but also don't pretend you know everything...cos if you don't you sound dum, and they'll rip you off anyways.

    Trust noone

Im picking that would be all fluids changed. Diff and oils are expensive.

Iv never paid more than 20bucks to have a tire removed turned and refitted an balanced.

Yeah it was a private one here in Dunedin. Got a bit of a shock but ~$400 was on the 20+ ltrs of various oils. Gear and diff oils etc. Am not too worried as I had no time to do it and now I have a baseline to work from...

What do you guys do on a full service? List?
