That's exactly what I am planning to do in 12 months time

Those Siberian rivers where these boats made their name make almost all white water in NZ look tame. And they will spend 3-4 days ploughing up some gnarly obscure river just to get to their favourite fishing area, hauling hundreds of L of gas along with them.

Probably not Brads, a story usually starts from facts but grows like the size of the fish everytime you tell it

We don't know since he just went all ghost like on us. No trying to explain or "ok guys I kind of stretched the truth on that one", just dropped off the face of the earth.

I looked into building a jet-ski based 3M a few years ago and instead built a 3.6 with conventional running gear (2L car engine and 7.5 inch single stage) and I'm glad I did. I've travelled in a couple of 3M boats and found them uncomfortable by comparison especially in bigger water and no storage. While you can upgrade the jet ski units with better blades, grills, nozzles wear rings etc they don't take the bash as well as bigger units. And if your engine goes pop its an expensive exercise versus going to the wreckers and picking up another engine, plus the bigger two strokes are guzzlers. I find two guys with push poles can shift my boat fine when stuck. If your sole aim is to push up skinny rivers as far as you can then sure a 3M boat is probably the go. If you want to take a decent amount of gear and value your spine a slightly bigger boat might be the better option.

Agreed, boating in a 3m mini has that squeezed sardine sensation , especially with 2 up.No elbow room,& difficult to get in & out of if set up with bucket seats.Bigger is better

A caravan and one of these for a 4 month tour of the south is a bucket list ideal.
