Oh how a little bit of knowledge goes a long way

What are the '04 Hilux's like? Before they went to the new shape and engines?

    Nice

Push button 4wd on the gearlever and decent articulating suspension for the average hunter

Quiet at highway speeds and good gearing/torque curve for tight back country roads.

Have owned a few of them, now using the new ones and no problems at all, but the suspension is much firmer on the new ones.

I'd use an 04 again in the blink of an eye

Been running one for 3yrs, probably the most comfortable of the utes on road, there are better off road.
You can get more bells and whistles for less on things like the Rangers.
Wouldn't choose one for heavy towing, but will keep this one for another 100K.

Ghastly garbage all of them. Buy an LN106 and delight in the power of a totally mechanical naturally aspirated 2.8 litre diesel and the stunningly smooth ride of 2 leaf sprung solid axles below 1600kg of rusty body roll

Finding one under 300k isn't easy either. Will stick with the GQ.

    Thats more like it.
If for instance you had spent 15 on it it doesn't then make it worth 30.

My work vehicle is a Isuzu D-Max; now coming up to 60K. So far it's been absolutely reliable. Find it comfortable and economical. Heaps of low end torque and good highway grunt.

I bought a 2015 Triton yesterday. They sound reasonably reliable.
