Looking at it the Nissan appears to be a better prospect. Bomb proof engine, similar gearbox/more manuals available, proper transfer box with 2x4/4x4 and free wheeling hubs, surprisingly more headroom even in the low roof, stronger gear train and the option of the good moon roof. Can always add a hair drier under the bonnet if wanted too, the older engines are good for 15psi boost and the newer turbo engines are good for 30psi.

There are a few 105 series floating around. 100 series Cruiser with 80 series running gear, solid front end and manual.
Harder to find than rockinghorse poo, and if you do find 1 they are worth a bazillion cause the owner knows what they got.

Found something. Woohoo. Will require collecting and a little work to set up. The good thing is it will match the longer shocks I bought last night.

Making a lot noise but actually not goin very fast.
Most probably because the retarded driver doesn't realise wt f a rev limiter is and if you want to go faster you actually have to change gear

I've not gone Toymota nor Nissan. Figured the Safari rusty roof syndrome is only going to show up more and more as time goes by. All the cruiser adds list what they've replaced lately, ... reinforcing that the running gear is none too solid in them.

I'm not entirely sure, ... but it is an Isuzu Bighorn 3.1TD, 5 speed manual. Will see what sort of rear diff it has when I get it on the jack. Have longer springs and shocks to go in the back, snorkel and alarm on the way, then wind up the front a fraction and slap some new feet under it.
