    outboard issues

You probily sorted it but it's now fucked because you put a can of shit down the poor things throat

Seems strange that you pumped out the cylinders abit then it started for abit
    Pull plugs check for spark
If in doubt replace plugs, they may work ok with no load but when they get compression on them they will faulter, drain all the carb bowls,
Disconnect fuel, and with bowls drained crank her over with no plugs to get all the shit in the cylinders out, check for suck/pull with plugs out while you're there, put the new plugs in, don't over prime it then give it ago, stay away from the either - engines become reliant on it, it also has no lubricating property's for 2-strokes - unless it states it does on the can

There's more shit to check after that

Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

I wasn't meaning to run the motor on eather just get her firing. I race karts and thats exactly what we use when it doesn't crank up.

Never owned anything else bur Evinrude or Johnson, never had any probs in 30 yrs of owning. Of course there gone now, the motor I have is a 1997 vee 4 last of the big looper motors, owned since 2000. Great motor, guess if I bought a new one these days I'd have to consider my options very carefully!

Sounds like the fuel pump to me. I have a Johnson on one of my boats and that was exactly the issue I had with it. So I put on a new fuel pump not a VRO one and now mix my gas in the tank. have had no more issues and it goes like a dream. On the other boat I have a 1154 Yamaha , it has never let me down.

Hmmm, no report yet. Still paddling?

I had a similar problem with my little tidller. Turned out to be the seal on the motor fuel connector. A right pain when having my fist crack with an outboard in a blustery nor-easterly. Thank goodness for those more reliable paddles.

If it goes now it must have either had a intermittent electrical fault(scary) or the plugs were actually wet with fuel and you flooded it.
A simple check for spark would have told you.

If flooded disconnect fuel and remove all plugs, wind briefly at full throttle no choke, let it rest a few minutes and another brief wind checking plugs are dry and spark then refit and start.
