I'm sure MD would have pulled over and loaded them aboard if he had hit one!

I have 535hp and the best i've got is 16/100, but that's driving it like a Nancy
couple of things that make a HUGE difference
set the over speed up a bit and drop cruise control down..allows it to roll on down hills for longer
when taking off from stop/slowed down...dont do it in cruise control,it will burn heaps trying to get up to speed as quick as possible..Nancy it along and pick up speed slowly and fuel burn stays down low
and brakes are for emergency stops...the more you can drift down slowly the better your stats will be .....
we have a couple of roads down here where 2.5kms drift will still see you reach corner doing 60kmph longest drift so far is 11kms and still had to brake for corner...I ROLL took a bit to get used to,fun just seeing how cheap can run...most fellas just plant boot and say they not paying fuel bill. horses for courses

Yeah, you dont get much chance to coast up here. Its just bloody hard yakka for the truck, lots of really steep hills and corners. I think theres something like 400 odd corners and 7 BIG hills to go around or over if you do the whangapoua run.
mayfield to arundal...2 corners total..one 8km straight one 11km straight. longer straight from hinds to arundal LOL.... 7 mile road is more like 15kms..dead straight, nearly dead flat.... different worlds alright.

Son n law up in Pilbara last week.Him and his team of mechanics just fitted a new factory crate Cat diesel motor in a large dump truck.Motor 84litre,V16,2750hp.Done pre tests befor hand.Started truck up,engine went for 5 seconds and dropped a valve, they heard lots of loud noises they werent happy about.Fluids from one side flowed thru to opposite bank, totally hydrolicked?.Motor cost $1.1million,now to find another motor and get this one overhauled.
The workshop team werent happy, and they have fitted dozens of new motors befor.
Ouch. I wouldn't want to be paying that rebuild invoice 9
So not only are they slow they're also expensive relics to run?
