    Quad Bike Year of Manufacture

How do you find out the year od manufacture for a Suzuki King Quad.

I bought a King Quad that was advertised as a 1999 300cc King Quad.

    Name: 1999 Suzuki King Quad.jpg

A mate has just been around and swears it's an early 90's model, mostly because it has square headlights. He thinks they should be round for a 99.

I'm still happy with the bike although I haven't given it any hard work yet but I'll be pissed if it is an early 90's model soley because the seller told me it was a 1999 and had advertised it as such.

    Any help would be appriciated

    Cheers
    Pete

Can't help you Pete but the hour meter is a good indicator of how much work it has really done.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

    As you were!

Just found this site on the net.

    Suzuki VIN Decoder @ Motoverse.com

My mate was right, but also wrong, his guess was way too early.

Turns out year of manufacture was 1998.

So all is good again in the universe.

    Carry on.

    Cheers

    Thanks for the reply.

I was a bit hasty with my post. ten minutes later I find a site that will tell you year of manufacture from the Vin number.

The speedo says 26952 but I think that may be kms .... cant see an hour meter.

The bike runs fine.... no smoke everything works, except the speedo. Steering is frim, ball joints and wheel bearings seem good. No funny noises to be heard.

I didn't pay a lot for it and I guess only time will tell if it's any good or not.

    Cheers
    Pete
