Well I swear by my beltronics. Bought 10plus years ago, nearly a $1k at the time but it has paid for itself many times over. And I drive a 4WD not a racer. It's being able to overtake safely and feel a measure of confidence you can move past without lingering at 102kph.

I have used Bel a couple now found to be good.
Using a TPX on the bike.
Got ticketed last weekend instant on but in general a radar detector saves you when they are checking others and you get warning.
    Occupational hazard.
No range on cameras now not really a problem on the bike.

What you can try is mount your detector vertically they sell mounts to do so and this will give you a bit more range on the cameras.

I heard those tpx are good on bikes. My mate said something along the lines of the lead bike has the detector and others can get the alerts in there helmets if there not too far away.
Do you mean instant on as in pop. There not suppose to ticket using pop. Or maybe you mean he flicked on the hawk at last minute.

Interesting about mount vertically. Altho they have bits that look like they shoot a laser beam out to Search for radar. The guy at radar direct who should know recons they don't look. They listen like a radio listening for a radio station as you tune it. He says it can be in the Centre consol of the car and work fine.
He should know. But yeah just what I was told.

Well I'm no expert but the hawk is the hawk. The pop is something that's either like a hawk or uses the same band. I'd even say it could be digital. But anyway it's something that takes a speed reading in a tenth of a second. Which is not suppose to be used to ticket you. I'm not sure why but it would seem pop could be used then which to the hawk for the proof of speeding.
So as you see, I don't really know. All this is what iv put together from reading radar specs and different sellers q and a page.
I could of done more research or Googled it to pretend I know what I'm on about. But I don't really.

Just got a 55km/hr in a 50km/hr zone ticket... I stick to the limit but I'm not that good. Revenue gathering nothing less and look at the huge difference this sh** is making to our road toll (not). Go the radar detector.

Only got two chirps in the headset.
Mind you I was traveling reasonably quick.

The patter they give always make chuckle,"how fast were you going" as if you are going to tell them.
"Have a nice day" it was,"How fast does it go" give me a break.
I always walk round their car check tyres, wof etc. You never know may get lucky.

He reckoned he clocked me at 135 but gave me a discount of only 130,also asked if I had demerits must have been hoping I had hit 100 demerits.
Also got bit defensive when I suggested he was very "quick".

I just consider it an occupational hazard riding bikes.
Probably get a ticket every 25-30,000km/2-3years
