Another thing to consider is finished deck height . Ranger has considerably higher well sides , don't no if this coverts to a high flat deck ? . My experience of 4wd flat decks is they don't want to be any higher .
The tritons look ok with a flat deck and rear window opens also diff lock . I would have considered one but look gay with canopy !

I can swap the decks over on the Hilux again effectively saving 3-3.5K.

I really wanted to get the VW last time but it was going to cost me around 10k more than the Hilux.....Yeah Nah....thanks all the same.....

I will have a look/drive in some of the others, I might even get an Auto

Still have my King Tony tool kit from last one, unopened even
King Tony sockets sets are best left unopened, they last longer that way.
Have a customer with a Ranger fitted with an alloy flat deck, real nice and practical
Buy what your happy with, I was sold on the 5 cylinder engine, it's superb. Get an Auto, all new utes have a very hi first gear and it's a bastard starting with a load on, up hill and you don't want to be pissing round with the rest of the gearbox to get going. Last Colorado was my first ever auto, I'd never go back to manual.

Thanks have done 65000k in this 4wd & 75000k in the 2wd before it.

Kept telling Toyota first is two high, 5th is to low & it should have 6.......guess I'm a bit spoilt with the Monaro....

We have a Mazda BT50 3L/ 5 Speed auto. 2010, I think. Great truck tows the boat like its not even there. Would make an OK hunting wagon too if only I were able be allowed in the damn thing. My missus loves the thing more than she love me I think
I like it better than the Toyota we test drove and the STX's. And was cheaper too

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Block dray on the road is the Toy to me, a great farm or off-road vehicle, but hard to enjoy at 100 kph .
