@Brasso. "But "global warming" is different, It only ever goes up, never down, and that is the concerning part." Oh really? What about the Cretaceous Period when average temps. were 5-10 degrees Celsius higher than today and sea levels were 50-100 meters higher. Maybe some of the Dinosaurs would beg to differ with you. Anyhow this thread has gotten way of track as usual, lets get back on track.

I wouldn't begrudge rising RUC if I saw it being spent 100% on quality road repairs/maintenance. But what I see is a joke

how can it be more economical to send 6 guys out every 1-2 months with a bag on cold asphalt to fill a hole than just to do it right first time?
beggars belief, hole got so deep in 2 months i snapped a mcpherson strut at 50km/h

send the invoice for the repairs with evidence to the LTSA, or waka kotahi or what ever politically correct name they want to spin this week.

You have a case for re imbursement there.

You pay tax to use the roads, its only right that the roads should be up to standard to be used.

Again, I used to live in Lowry Bay ~ 50 years ago. It was exactly the same then, I used to catch the bus to Muratai School - and frequently ended up stuck at home when storm swells came up over the road. Victoria University couldn't predict their own shits within a week if they tried (which is why they are going broke).

since the hole was filled by water during a huge downpour any damage is classified as "act of god". neither ltsa or insurance will pay out.
you should have seen some of the other cars, one little suzuki had its entire front end on the tarmac and horizontal wheels.
thats what happens when you do crap repairs to holes

Government has announced more uni funding in these tough times, will really help with their "predications"

No, the act of god was the rain. The hole was there thru either badly constructed or maintained roads.

Ask them to reconsider before you engage a solicitor and seek redress. Insurance is the ombudsman.

Push, you will get it over the line. These pricks just fob you off if they can so you go away. If you make things difficult for them, invariably they pay to make YOU go away.
