    As a multiple, and current GQ patrol owner I can honestly say one of the toughest road going trucks I have ever been in was a modded 80 series. Think turbo diesel and 37s, lockers front and rear. Hydraulic winch etc. Spent few days in it in the Vic high country in it on a sambar hunting trip, impressive. Sadly here they are mightily expensive so I went GQ patrol. However, even though I am a diehard GQ fan and driver, I have a 45 in the shed undergoing a complete teardown so I can remain in this thread without being evicted

    The running gear in the GQ is a lot better than the equivalent Cruiser. Of the two I'd still prefer the GQ, or if you can find one a GU.
