iv mounted the new motor, next i think ill add in some storage for the totes by making a seat style cubby on each side and and a battery compartment. iv made a rough scetch of other ideas im thinking.
I suggest you are going too far with proposed extras. As stated by others, tanks should be easily moved to assist trim of boat depending on load carried. I suggest you consider a plastic lidded battery box down after. They often come with straps to secure and appropriate ‘staples’ riveted to hull will prevent movement. Could do the same with totes; fit tiedown points in appropriate areas. There’s nothing worse that having a cluttered workspace in a small boat. Ideally you need to work from a very plain setup before adding weight/obstructions. BTW, once witnessed a dude with a large wicker picnic hamper with appropriate chequered tablecloth, fishing magazines and fancy Sammie’s launching at top of Coromandel.
How did I know he had all that sh*t in his boat? I helped recover it when he got dusted trying to launch through the surf.

thanks for your insight, i will take note about the totes i have spent the afternoon sitting in the boat moving stuff around thinking how everything will work. maybe i stick to 1 tote (25l) and when i need extra ill use a couple of smaller 10litre containers that can be stacked/strapped away smaller etc. i have a plastic battery box on its way which will get mounted out of the way somewhere possibly under where the driver is sitting? its all brainstorming at the moment

so looking at that....you MAY need to move motor just a LITTLE BIT to the right..depending on your body weight...and add some serious padding to your seat. my 15hp merc sits 2" to right in the 13ft fryan..actually helps with no cavitation too as gets cleaner water.

my left side "screw thingy" has either a padlock or a carabeiner hooked through handle onto hook through boat itself..... even if it came completely loose (which it cant as cannot turn when locked) motor couldnt jump up high enough to clear the transom. I do put a piece of flat metal across under the screw thingys,so not denting into alloy..mine is short length of old flat warratah standard.

Just spotted this thread so thought id throw up my set up in case it helps any of you out.

Its a stabi 1410. I have owned this boat since Matty Watsons electric fence hand line episodes, ie 10+ years.

    This is the front...

Raised front anchor well. In there is anchor, extra fuel, spare anchor ( used as a stern anchor - able taz) Burley pot.

Hanging storage front seat. This is gold, battery + wiring/depth sounder. Wash all the crap out under it in the cleaning process but the biggest benefit is if you get a bit of water in the boat its high enough not to worry about the battery being swamped !!

I haven't yet needed a casting deck as you can literally cast from anywhere you like !!

    Here is the back....

Nice and clean, plenty of room for extra stuff. ie, bait box, tackle box, tote tank (or two).
@The bomb the aux is not bolted on but it is padlocked

    100% it works !

From my experience its the front seat that needs the pad, the back one doesn't bounce bugger all.

If it does then your doing something wrong !!

Yes but a cushion is warmer on a frosty morning than cold hard alloy with ice on it.

I to had a 1410 with the infamous 30hp 3 cylinder on it. Loaded all the gear upfront and 2 people on the back bench, it was always a super comphy ride. The fuel tanks lived under the front bench.
It takes 20 barrels of water to make 1 barrel of beer...

I have the outboard toggles screwed up tightly and facing inwards. Simply tie toggles together with strong cord and they can’t undo. My aux motor is chained on, whereas main motor on my 509 Stabi is bolted thru transom as per the norm.

Im a big fan of the cushions that go on top of icey tec bins
not only do they stop halfwits cutting bait on the lid of your one but they make great seats

the best advice I had for boat organisation is empty the boat completly after each fishing trip and only put back in what you need for the next one
Im a messy cunt by nature but it really sorted out all the stuff I didnt need and what tripping over

I dont know what your fishing for but loads of extra rod holders to move them out the way without laying them in the boat are great
Id just use the hell out of it and see what needs arise

they have cool little add ons like movable rod holder that clip into gunnels and some other really great proven ideas
