    V max's are a LOT of fun.
If you're cruising, rather than into scraping footpegs, you'll love it
    Great motor in them.
10 k's sounds like it's been looked after, so take it out and see if you like it.

My brother ran C109 and loved it. But my tastes run more to Indian Enfields....Worth a peek if you are into old school....

But for reliability, my XV1000 is now 30 years old, and I have owned it for almost all of that. Been very reliable. Can be a bit hard on the tail bone on long rides (300km or more) but have done a 1100km day once and a few 900km days. Reliability, the Japs know how to make an engine.....

    @Happy

Forgot to say I've had a Boulevard since 2005 and have loved every minute of it.

The V-Max are a good bike.

Can pass most things on the road .......... Except a petrol station that is.

They only have an 11L tank and a range of about 130kms/tank.

    Cheers

The V-Max is a good bike, very heavy with ok handling, probably feel like it's on rails after a Harley. Complex motor though and I understand expensive if it shits itself. The one thing you do need to look for if you go the VMAX way is make sure you get a V-Boost model, this is what made the VMAX lengendary.

The Vulcan's are nice, I have a mate who's got one, he describes the motor as tractor like, just keeps pulling. Shaft drive also like the VMAX.

The Suzuki Boulevard M109 is a well sorted cruiser with the 109R the pick. Shaft drive also.

Could pick up a nice little Harley 883 for around that price. Moto Guzzi , Ducati...they all have something in that price bracket.

I am in exactly the same boat with the same budget, building a house, sold my Kawasaki ZX14 for a car to move down south.
Just waiting to get built, get a garage......................bike time.........can never get rid of that itch.

Let us know what you get

Mate has the bigger Boulevard and loves it.

I ran Jap high performance 750s for many years - Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha FZ750 etc. Been eyeballing something like this lately - a classic now and fabulous sports cruiser. Not Harley style but legendary touring ability for very few bucks now. Excellent power too at 130hp/240+kph:

Must not do this. must not do this. I must not - do this. do this. Actually I just might do this.... (This is what happens in the head when you look at new bikes..)

Just putting it out there, I am thinking about one as a possible, Ducati Monster, cruiser / street bike / sports and could tour.
Great V Twin motor, nice and low with good power......just a thought.

I've always had a bike or 2 in the shed, a couple of years back settled on a VT750 Shadow,: often chuck the trout rod on the back.Clocked up about 5000km on it now, do the odd day trip dannevegas to taranaki, suits my height and weight with a low seat height throw it around easy, not suited for long trips with a pillion passenger tho.
Good priced 2nd hand ones out there.
Goodluck need some fine days and the wind to piss off🖒
