The dpf issues seem pretty common. ...I think there is a class action lawsuit going on in Australia?

Also ford mondeo gearbox issues which ford tried to tell customers to pound sand over. They were failing at 60ks!

They started to change their tune after they started on fair go.

    Ford cars are crap.

Trouble with the new Toyota is
They are 3 yrs behind, Colorado, Ranger ,
I looked at one when my warranty ran out a couple of months ago

I'd be paying 20K plus for something I already have
    No Thanks.

Thats it there I think....toyota owners generally dont like to admit anything is wrong with them.
25 years of Toyotas ownership myself certainly the older ones are more reliable.....but they are all worn out and thrashed now.

The most reliable Toyota I have owned was a 2l petrol SW Rav.
That scores the most points for being mercilessly raped towing boats and firewood.....beach and dune work (which it outdid every other "proper " 4wd at by a long margin)....it just did it and cost me a cv boot and a oil change or two.

I used to have a behind the times Hilux
    Sheep shagger they called it
had to be in low before it would go through a side steps high stream
Needed serviced every 7K and needed the valve seats done every time you clicked over 40 k

Your comment rings true for the older models. I own a 2015 Hilux SR5 and drive a 2016 Ranger Wildtrack as a daily work vehicle. The Hilux feels like an old school 4wd compared to the Ranger, but I know which truck I'd rather be in up the Rakaia or Rangitata river in...Toyota anyday. Yeah the service intervals are shorter but I see oil as a cheap consumable.

That's a fair way out.....do you have a fixed price or are you at the mercy of the exchange rate and market rate?

Depending on which model Hilux, some are available Jan/Feb, others Mar/Apr, but the most wanted SR5 DC Apr/May.
Worldwide demand, shipping and computer chip delays are holding everything up. Plus NZ is such a small market on a global scale.

So presumably putting a deposit down and committing to the sale is the price there in black and white or is it a we dont know what the price will be yet scenario ?
