Classic 7mm. Id say it would have to be Waimate. I was there not too long ago and watched a sort of kitted out, red MKv cortina, rear window luva and everything, pull up at a dairy. half a tank of AVgas (if you can source it I used to buy from Ardmore Airfield) to half a tank of petrol, from memory avgas still has lead in it. Oh and if you can get hold of avgas take fuel cans to the seller that way any questions asked it is for your racing car.

Thats an option. Was talking to the neighbour over the fence yesterday about it. He has a microlite & is always down at the airport, said he could fill a can for me when ever I wanted. How much lead does avgas have in it compared to the leaded petrol we used to have, anyone know?

I used to do it in an old MK5 station wagon I used to have used to chew through less gas too with the avgas petrol mix

Advance the timing a tad and run is soley on Av Gas... Car will run cooler and more power Exaust smeels better to

Used to run that and race gas when I had an old beast....and the stock car used to love it as well.

Went to moreys upper lube with the auto lube dispencer and never had an issue when the fuel was getting a bit expensive with Race Gas
