If the $1500 runner is petrol, drill, tap and fit a sparkplug into the top of the fuel tank and run a lead back to whatever sparks it up...but for fucks sake remember to disconnect it before heading home.

Bit like that Mr Bean painting ah
It is not unknown for Spray Marker Dye to be used in a device using a 12v motion sensor, but no good inside a car.

strip car before leaving home..leave glovebox and centre console open so baddies can see nothing in there worth pinching.

If you were serious about this and had a car trailer you could tow your $1500 shitbox to the local town garage where you have it prearranged that your towing vehicle and your trailer are safely locked up

Drive your shitbox to the trailhead, have a killswitch or take the rotor out, take your chances from there

Agree with MD re leaving glovebox and centre console open

Also a note on the dash saying " Before I get back from hunting I watch my car for half an hour - am I watching you now?"

Always fold gun bags in half, living on a road end i have seen a few break-ins just to check if bag is empty or not and once broken into take the empty bag as payment for the effort...tinted windows mean rrrss 'ols have to smash a window to have a nosy inside.

Don't have a full tank, have just enough (and a spare bit) fuel in the tank to get you home or to nearest service station. Might pay to stash a few litres in the bush. Have had fuel stolen.

Some places I drop my gear off drive and park at a safe place down the road and push-bike back to my gear at the road end.
