You'd really look the part with your AI rifles in a hummer tac as
I would have one , .... but ... just like everything else ...itar restricted

Shit im tempted, if there's some still in a few months I'll grab one. I see the ones on trade me are much older, I don't know any other way of meeting compliance for new frontal impact laws other than importing an old one
And with a signed end use cert shouldn't have to worry about itar
I could not afford the fuel bill , but I have always liked the wide stance they have for off road .
This sell off will just be the 1st at 4000 , they have made about 300k , and the US Army has about 160k of those .
My guess is they are selling them as they need money , for new gear .
AM General is not happy about civies getting them , if so they maybe will not support them , ie spares etc .
But at 300k made , and maybe as many as 150k being sold off in the next few yrs , if AM General dose not support them , small companies will start making spare parts for them and cut AM General out .
I donot know how they come in to NZ , I see their is LHD over 20yrs old section , and a under 20yrs old section , the guys bringing in the old USA muscle cars would know more .
Wont fit on most of our tracks tho. 70mph top speed to are they not?

Pain in the arse seats with little to no adjustment, a ton of blind spots, pretty average pickup, Midget size windows at a level that is lower than my eye sight, surprisingly small amount of storage space, engines pretty solid though. No thanks, spent to much bloody time in them.

I used to live with a mate in the U.S. And he buy a lot of US military plant when I was living there. Big plant. Water makers, generators, large troop AC systems. It cost more to get the gear from North Carolina to Florida than it was to buy. Many of the systems had zero run hours.
They don't need the money but they do sell them because they need next years budget money. If they don't spend the full budget allowance in the financial year they don't get it the next year was what I was told. These will be being sold for exactly the same reason.
We would chop it up, make it sellable and ship it around the Caribbean for good money. The desalination plants from Desert Storm were awesome. Wish I took some photos.

Well you see some of the enclosed trailers listed are fully equipped mobile workshops
No , they really do need the money , so much so , that I think they have changed some laws , it use to be , that anything that had property of US GovT , was always , no exception , which meant they did not have to differentiate , between real war stuff , ie tanks , guns etc , and stuff that did not go bang , like trucks , jeeps etc .
They have civies going thru all the war stuff sent back to the US , and they clean , re-pack , refurb stuff , re-stock stuff , to save the GovT a shed load of money , in the past , most of these bits and pieces would have been destoryed .
Also the makers AM General sold them under the understanding they where not to be released to civies etc , some of that would be liabilities etc , AM General arer not happy , part due to the liability and part to the fatc they did not get the new vehicle re-placement contract .
Not that any of this matters to us .

I see most of the trucks are automatics too. Now one of those 6x6 5 ton jobs could be good.
There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!
A mate in CHCH has had two Hummer H1s and four H2s. He said they're totally impractical- won't fit through a Maccers drive-thru..
I've been in one of his H1s and they're just insanely big with very little interior room/visibility as has been stated. He said the H2s drank ridiculous amounts of fuel, and this is coming from a man who runs supercars routinely
If an M1026 came up in those auctions I'd think about buying it but don't want any bog standard soft top M998
