Maybe its a bit modern but I reckon the early culling years would be neat seeing that its such a integral part of nz hunting history, hobnail boots, 303's, swandris, short shorts, canvas frame packs, plus compulsory Pocket Edition tobacco - no filters.

@Ryan_Songhurst, if it was during the early days of deer skins and canvas tents, I could dredge out an old kidney rotter...!!!!

Well then would people be keen if we worked on 1955?
Someone can bring their crappy series1 landie and tell us how wonderful it is.

Yeah, 1955 sounds good. Covers a few eras.
I'm sure my mum has my grandmother's WW2 issued sleeping bag from North Africa (she was a nurse).

My father has/had one of those classic brown and green canvas tents with wooden poles.
    Weighed a ton.
I'll check if he still has it.

I know the sort you mean, I still have one 12x12ft. Many companies sold them I think this one is branded Farmers Trading Company. I'm not sure when they started making them though.

Might have to borrow @northdude s obendorf Mauser - it's the only thing I have close to meeting that criteria ! But sounds like bloody good fun. Especially if we find some whiskey that old!
