The competition will be held on electronic targets.

With a life size deer target face at 300 yards.
No rifle weight or scope restrictions

Tip ... make sure your rifle is zeroed ( at least at 100 yards ).

This little shoot is always a lot of fun, I dont imagine there will be many 6.5 shooters there but there could be something on the prize table for them.

There will be plenty of folk on hand to give advice and help spot for you. You can use a bipod, a pack or just a sling. Bring your favourite old banger along for an outing!!

please bring spare ammo as it can be open slather later in the day for another rifle or what ever.... we might get you into a jacket!!

There is an upper caliber limit of 8 mm this is to prevent shots going beyond our safe zone.

It should be noted that the target at 300 yds isnt just a deer face its a whole deer sized target ( face was just the technicalualish term for a target face)

Bugger, I went to this 2 years ago and really enjoyed it (and learnt a lot), but the 6th is one of my hunting block ballot dates!

The only rules really are on power limit and caliber.
The restriction on muzzle breaks ( no muzzle break)
The other rules are your general firearm safety rules.
There will be a safety breifing on the day prior to shooting.
We have no limits on the weight of the firearm, the type of bipod or scope power.

The power limit is measured in joules 4500 is the maximum.

For example a 240 grain projectile speed at 2495 fps = 4500 joules.

150 grain projectile speed of 3156 fps = 4500 joules

90 grain projectile speed of 3274 fps = 2900 joules

Most rifles fall well under this limit.
Pretty much if its your hunting rifle or PRS competition rig bring it along and see how you go!

Personally I will be shooting my 1917 vintage .303

There is a maximum on the caliber of 8mm So if you plan to use a 50 cal or .338 Lapua Magnum it will be outside the rules.
We have tried to open this up to as many different styles of rifle as possible without creating a bewildering number of classes and restrictions. While still remaining under the safety rules of shooting in this day and age
Danny and country cuts like this.
