I’d be interested, depending on dates as meant to be heading down south late March. I’m eligible in a months time.

Fly. I will research costs and available bookings. The block is closed to hunting at present, but relatively easy terrain. May suit okd chappies.

OK chaps. I took the bridle between my teeth this morning. I booked Tin Kettle block ; in 24th- out 28th March. Has big tussock valley bordered by bush. Fly in squirrel. Weight limit 145kg pp all up including yr toenails, tucker etc and cost all up $900pp. Room for three plus me. I've paid the booking deposit.
    Time to think seriously now!
This block is closed and will reopen 1 March and the dates above are our only window.
Please PM me those serious. (Golden hills blocks are fully booked unfortunately)

Hey mate the max weight per person is 145 kg. You’d have to travel nude with your rifle and two rounds? I’m a bit uncomfortable with that?

These days I would have a forty kilo clothing and food allowance. I will look at the dates and let you know Woody.

Just a bit of info about the block chaps. While the current name is Tin Kettle, the historical name of the hut location was Te Aputa hut and later commonly known as Kaimanawa hut. This hut became partly derelict and now serves as the firepkace and cooking area. A seperate 4 bunk module was built nearby more recently. The location is one valley west of the Gokden Hill block and is on the old bridle track between Boyd, Gold Creek, Gokden Hills old musterers hut ( now restored by a group coordinated by Murray N) then west to Te Aputa and SW thru Ngamatea and Ohinewairua to Gentle Annie Taihape. An interesting area.

Note; when I referred to Ohinewairua alternatively read Owhaoko. Adjoins Ngamtea to the west.
