I'm pretty keen on shooting some rabbits around Rotorua if anyone knows a spot.

Later on about mid year I might be able to offer a wallaby/fallow hunt when we move to a block at Manawahe.

That's awesome mucko, yea Waikite's fine only 30min from my place. Let me know when you've cleared it with land owner and we can jack up an evening in the next couple of weekends if that's all good.

    Cheers

Yea I'll keep you's updated, we've got a mother load of wallabies around the lakes here, problem is you only get a narrow window right on evening when they come out of the scrub otherwise just spot lighting

There's quite a few fallow and the odd pig around the block too, hopefully there hasn't been to much pressure on the block while our crews been out of there.

Hey Mucko and Big_foot I'd be keen to head out round Rotorua sometime. I've never had the chance to hunt wallaby. New to hunting tho.

I'll put my hand up to show some new starts around on rabbits, no long range though. 200 metre maximum for rifle, or if someone wants a go shotgunning that could be arranged....

Hey Burran, I'm going to be moving to a new block soon, there will be wallabies there but not sure of hunting restrictions though.

In a few months time should be in a good block I'll keep this thread posted.

Its closed this time of year, may have already opened but not sure Doc will know anyway but I've often encountered wallabies on the western Okataina walkway, mostly from the lake Okareka end. Few reds in there too.

I'm definitely keen to get out for a shoot around the Hamilton area, been working weekends for a long time and haven't been able to organise much myself. Goat shooting around Pirongia would be ace, I'm keen to get out there myself on the DOC land, but I would appreciate some guidance on public land etiquette lol.
