Might be looking for someone to catch a ride from in Chch if possible, 4wd access to the range being the issue.
Someone will take you up, don't worry about that!

I can come in to ChCh to pick you up if needed. Let me know some flight details etc closer to the time and we'll make sure you get there.

We will see how it goes, the wife and I will be staying in Chch for the weekend to see some friends.
Might end up needing to hire a car but likely wont be a 4wd.

Someone will be able to take you in a 4wd from Farlie or somewhere close to.

How many entrants are we at now?

I'm tossing up whether to get smoked with the .223, or bring something else....(and still lose )

You'll only get smoked if a windy day. I've shot the course with a fellow entrant using a 223 & he did bloody well, only the two tahr & 700m wallaby gave him grief. The tahr can be an arse in the wind if you're weak at calling the wind like me
A good spotter is also required to pick those 223 hits out.

are you guys/girls running a bipod bag setup?
i have been a bit slack with shooting over the last few years due to various reasons, but keen to get back into it. Ive booked in for both days, in process of joining the nzha in christchurch so hopefully get the mongrel looking 6mm cm going ok, failing that the 223. hunting id usually use a pack but thinking a half decent bipod and small bag may be good for the various shooting positions. ill likely get a terrible result but looking forward to it. Also thanks to the people involved organising the event.

See you there. Will likely have room in the vehicle for one or two more.

Same day as the ruahine auction, otherwise I'd give it another go.

I believe "no shooting specific bags" like barricade bags or rear bags.

    Will carry a bipod around

You can do just as well off a pack if that's how you shoot hunting. Many of the targets a bipod isn't very good

My guess would be that a bipod is going to be almost useless, will still take one though and a rear bag though.

When you say shooting off a pack do you meant seated or still laying down? I always imagine it to mean seated, but I'm guessing that's not the case.
