I wonder if the battery replacement + servicing cost is similar for the Oceansignal Rescueme. Lusty & Blundell website says it costs 245 dollars for battery replacement (wow), no mention of servicing though. I suppose that might be the benefit of getting an ACR over Rescueme, although the battery life is lower and upfront cost is higher, the battery replacement is much cheaper.

Just checked my ACR and tests ok but battery is out from 08/17. Watched a YT video on replacing...3xCR123A's. I use a 66i and battery pack so would be good to replace as a spare back-up for $30ish.

well i emailed the approved service agent (mobilesystems in east tamaki) for the GME on monday to get a price and idea of downtime.........
no response not even an acknowledgement and "we will get back you" so with backup service like that helps make my decision easier

I've found them awesome to deal with usually. We buy all our two way radios and plbs etc for the farm through them . Might be worth just giving them a call, mad times we are living in and some businesses are probably struggling with covid etc

Hi there, it is an old discussion here, but I am now about to buy my first PLB. Any advice which one I should buy? I am thinking about the GME one. ( cheap and 7 years battery)… any experience or recommendations, please?

Check out the forum sponser - he's posted on here somewhere about one in the last few weeks. I was meant to get back to him with a few questions for commercial use but I got busy and am slack haha. CooeeBay or somesuch?

Actually just found the link. These look like a very good deal for personal use - don't mind my comment on commercial use as there's a few other headaches involved there such as documentation and servicing records for the auditors to look at and coo.
