Without question the best value is the Beretta half gay 300 which has just dropped from $2000 to $1500. It's the third evolution of that lineup. If you buy something tacticool with rifle sights you will struggle to shoot birds and running rabbits with it which defeats the point of buying a shotgun. 12g 7.5 trap ammo is what you should use on a no life block.

id suggest one of the new escort range. like mr dundee ,Ive used an escort magnum 12g s/a (early model with 2stage manual gas regulator) and its served me well.Escorts are rugged ,simple to maintain which is crucial.Irun an extended mag ,mainly for geese and accessories are relatively cheap for them. these latest ones of course are coming from more modern factories and enjoying good writeups here&aboard.

holy smoke Batman...the fella is asking what to use to shoot odd bunny on lifestyle block
buy a single barrel Bakail or a cheap SxS or U/O off the second hand rack, put decent recoil pad on it. most bunnies will be in ones or twos and most times you will only get two decent shots away before they are gone, a pump or semi isn't needed and if you are new to shotties a break open gun a far better/safer bet in my books.
the .410 is great to 25 yards 30 if using #4 in 3" shell
.12ga fed with falcon sp36 in size #3 will take care of any bunny that hops on this earth.
I shot rabbits full time for 4 months using just a single banger and let me tell you this, I used less rounds and killed more bunnies than my colleges with a pump and a semi combined.
even now with a good pump in cabinet if out after bunnies its a break open gun I grab.

Cheers Mighty Duck. Interest has expanded to the fowl game of duck hunting. So far the score is pretty low but hoping to change that this weekend. And more central Otago bunnie busting this spring and summer.

Your comments are noted though and I will look into that.

Nothing wrong with the Smelly Benelli super 90.
Only guns that stood up to the thousands of rabbits, deer and other pesties we used them on out of the machines for years on end.
If you ever want to sell it I will be interested if in good nic, cheers😆

took a couple of young lads out to jump up some ducks the other week, newbie to shooting had single barrel hammer gun and our son a SxS we jumped a flock in perfect ambush and BOTH boys doubled...two shots fired two mallard drakes down, and the newbie had to reload!!!!!!!,sure I managed 4 from 6 shots with pump but didn't feel any better than an honest double.and that was one of those occasions that only happen every few seasons, I cant recall firing more than 3 shots at anytime over opening weekend this season.
