So can this Halo Peak gas burner take the upside down canisters?
try it and see...looks like it has heating coil....
I will try it at home. Going to do some backyard cooking with the kids tomorrow night. Don't have a proper stand but can put something together to do the job.
I'm not sure. I can't find a manual on the net easily. Remember to run it upright for 30secs before trying with it inverted if you do test it. Be aware it might flare up so keep your face away from the burner and maybe put a full pot of water on it to stop it flipping over when you invert the canister.
Cheers, all I found for the Halo Peak expedition stove was that it had a built in anti flare system.
Prompted by this excellent thread I ordered a Kovea "Spider", and to my surprise it got delivered! Its excellent on test, light (170 gms) and runs fine inverted.
However the promotional material and the instructions make no mention of "inverted running", the only mention is some small print on the box. I don't know how you'd buy it for inverted running if you didn't have first hand information.
Interesting. Should email em see why it's not advertised as being capable of inverted use. It's been used that way since 2012. Maybe it's a legal thing.
