I've had a cat s60 for the last two years.....its been great but getting a bit slow and clunky now.
First phone I have had with a bottle opener on it.

One REALLY annoying thing with it is the low earplug jack and bluetooth volume.....it is health and safety pathetic.
Maybe the new version is better ?

I've had a few xcovers since im such a rough cunt but I'd say they are the hardiest phones I've had. Currently got one with a impact case on and glass screen protector from trademe and its lasted longer then the other ones I've had. I'm prone to dropping them on concrete, drop kicking them, throwing them at the wall and occasionally dropping them in buckets of diesel and the only thing that's fucked them is when I crack the screen then get moisture in behind it

Yea I have had maybe 5-6 xcovers as work phones......they are better than a un covered samdung or applejuice but for robustnest and waterproofness dont even come close to the cat

With the cat you pay for the name obviously.....just like you do with Apple and Samsung .....but you get a slightly outdated operating system, not huge memory etc in a case and screen that can handle the knocks.

But it is the first smart phone I have ever owned that has lasted two years without a broken screen or the most common comlpaint for me is the speakers shit out with all the metal dust from work.......and I have had cell phones for over 25y.

X-Cover 4. 3+ years old. Due for it's third screen protector and is in an impact case. Has been dropped in water over 1m deep at least three times and no adverse affects. I drop it often, usually over concrete, kick it, use it in the rain, mud etc. Stepped on it last month while it was at the bottom of the pond I lost it in, hence needing a new screen protector. Getting slow now and the battery only lasts a day but it is my mobile office for email etc.

Have ended up with a cat s61, I killed x cover ok mainly my fault but reckon it should have lasted a bit longer.

First impression on the new one are it's a seriously chunky beast, knew it had the thermal camera (had a short play but have a handheld thermal) it even has a rangefinder... Out to 8m

Was lighting the fire and smoked the house to out phone started beeping at me, now o know it has an air quality sensor it in

Cool, a phone that will tell you when someone farts.

Had a bit more of a play. Having an actual reading is quite handy, (top of fire warming up was 150, dogs eye is 31) there seems to be more detail/definition with this than I would expect to get from a hunting monocular at close range.

Taking pictures of thermal could be handy. Quick examples I can thing of is exhaust off a vehicle. If you know what temperature things run at normally you know when something's wrong

Will have a better play with distances at some stage.....

That's one expensive phone (Cat). I'm far too tight to spend that much on a phone.
