    Buffalo Gun Safe

I have a older buffalo river gun safe and want a second key for the main lock. I got some blank keys this year but they are for the newer safes unable to get blank for older models.
Are locksmiths able to make keys from scratch?
Is there a modern machine that can make a copy?
better still any one got a blank sitting in there draw

take it to locksmith, they CAN duplicate any key if they want to do so..... so can you with enough time and small set of files, they have tools to do it faster..they just need piece of metal bigger than key and whittle it down to size n shape.
if big stores wont do it...find the little guy.

Just dont expect it straight away some keys can take a few hours to make but no one wants to pay for your research etc but many locksmiths see it as a challenge to be done in down time if the key is sitting on the bench saying I bet you cant . It wont be $10 .

Another though take lock out and take to proper locksmith and he might have a complete lock with keys for a reasonable price to replace existing lock

I will have to get in to town this week and try to get it sorted. I am happy to pay but will need to way up the option of selling it with one key and replacing it with a new one
It not a cheap buffalo river safe.

Am going to also ring the wholesaler again on Monday see if they have a change over lock that bolts in. @northdude was it the standard safe or one with locking lugs down the door? i removed the inside panel tonight and the locking mechanism is about 100mm x100m

    In a similar situation myself.
If the key has a hollow shaft (pipe key) it can be a bit harder to get a blank.

However the locking mechanism is often modular and can be unbolted and swapped out.

@Dicko to me its just a simple blank not a pipe key. My partner took it in a while ago and locksmith had no blanks that matched and was going to find one, took details but never got back to us but its time i got it sorted to put one ease ones mind.

Big bear, my safe is a different brand but has a 3 point lock system.

Mine is a pipe key which are hard blanks to find. Just guessing on your needs...

If the black key is for ammo locker just take lock out , take to locksmith and you may get a complete new lock for 30bucks with 2/3 keys as it looks like a locker key .
