    Bushbuck sleeping mat

Hey everyone anyone tried bushbuck sleeping mats? Looking for something that packs smallish but doesn't bloody wake me up every time I move like my current one

Haven't got one or tried one but noisy sleeping mats was something I was warned about. Went to bivouac and tried out 4 or 5 different ones and most of the ultralight ones were very noisy. Ended up getting an Exped synmat winter.

As above, found the Exped ul7 pretty quiet but no experience with Bushbuck

I have one of the Naturehike ones that they sold before the current ones. Looks like the exact same thing and can confirm still fairly noisy..

I disagree, using a few of their products and don’t have any complaints.

Depends, it'll be fine for on the farm. Depends on the item you're referring to as well. But I wouldn't expect much longevity out of the product, I've seen this first hand

Fair enough mate, yet to see how long my items last. 2 years so far with mattress, cooker and last few trips their gaiters. All seem well made. At a fraction of the price of other items like jetboil, it doesn’t have to last as long in my opinion.

I have a few things from them which have been great - have their sleeping bag, just got the sleeping mat - it is the same shape as their sleeping bag (mummy style) and seems comfortable - could be noisy if you move a lot. I will likely grab their 2 man tent when they are back in stock as well

You can disagree but the truth most of their gear is rebranded aliexpress stuff out of China. What you get is an NZ warranty/backup doesn't change what it is though.

Some things that are inherently easy for them to copy in China work fine ie cookers usually.

With all the complaints about noise everyone must be bloody light sleepers. I use a Thermarest XTherm that apparently noisy but I don't find it obnoxiously noisy or even noisy at all. After having one mat with down or synthetic stuffing insulation I wouldn't own another as it shifts and you get bad cold patches after a year or two and if you blow in with your breath the moisture makes it mouldy and perform worse.

A ton of stuff is made in China these days, and a lot of it is good. Each to their own tho.
I buy stuff that’s fit for purpose, and their products are...in my opinion

Never said it was bad but its still genuinely aliexpress gear you can buy off Ali for half the price in a different colour and brand
