I have a couple trips planned over the next few months so will definitely give it a run.

If they fall thru due to unforseen circumstances I will happily send it to you for testing.
Still has the tags on it and looks nice, all ready to go hanging in my garage.
Would be a shame to get it dirty.

Trick is to wash your hands after handling a carcass and to shoot them opposed to beating them to death with the rifle.

No blood will get on it then.

Did a 10km walk up and down a river the other day and used this pack for the first time.

I like it. It is comfortable but I didn't have much of a load in it. The waist belt sits on top of my hips which is great but if you're 6' or over I think it would be too small even with adjusting strapping etc.

I do think it could do with a couple extra external pouches.
There is only one netting one on the side and one medium size pouch on the top flap. Plus a spotting scope pouch.

I hate carrying binos around my neck or in a harness when moving quickly so a quick accessible pouch I could store mine would be handy for me.

It does tuck up nice and compact if you dont have much gear in it for getting thru the scrub. Noisey tho. Nylon on scrub and bush always is but.

Imo I don't think it is worth the money they want for it. I was luck mine was a gift.

I wouldn't buy one just on the price and that I have other packs that I am happy with and can do just a good of a job.

Good to see an honest appraisal. Not the usual " it must be good, I've got one"

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

Don't wanna put you off but I think you could get just as good a pack for considerably less money.

I bought one of those Vorn packs off a forum member. He didn't rate it that highly and stated that before he sold it.

I do rate it. I love the thing.
So far the most comfortable and practical pack I have used for overnighters.
So just goes to show, and like just about anything, wants and needs for this type of gear is different for everyone.

The only outstanding feature on the carjani imo is where you can carry meat or a small animal in the space designed for it.
I haven't done that yet so can't rate it. But it might be the ducks nuts for that feature alone?
I mainly hunt areas that allow me to cart out the animals I shoot for meat whole.

I don't like cutting up meat I intend to eat on the hill unless it can hang for a day or so.
I reckon even a 25kg yearling might be a bit big and awkward for that feature.
I will hopefully test that soon.

I could be back getting the carcass out the way I always have. Usually involving 2 trips.

The shoulder straps and the stitching do not look like they would stand up to multiple use with that sort of weight anyway but I could be wrong.
I could send you my one to have a look and tryout if your still undecided?
When are you next back in NZ?

The "shelf" idea for packing meat is certainly a good idea .... keeping the weight close to your body etc. I think more hunting pack type companies should have versions of it ... I know Kuiu do something .... any others?
