Finally a solution for my binos where I can carry them in a chest harness, without lens caps, and still have them reasonably well protected. Magnetic "clasp", so no velcro noise etc when opening.

Going for wee walkabout tomorrow to see how they work

4 hour mini-mission this morning, up and down all kind of gradient, climbing thru fallen trees, brush etc - passed with flying colours, flap stays closed, very comfortable

One side effect I did not think about is the magnet is plenty strong, so doing compass bearing right in front of the pouch is not a good idea
