The only major problem with those is they don't have the high sensitivity receiver, so they hardly ever get or hold a lock in the bush. I upgraded recently to one of those little 'Etrex 30' map units from a older non-high sensitivity one and it's a day-night difference!

I want a cheep one for the boat , just to mark and find my cray pots . It always amazes me how different distances look in different light . Only a km offshore but some days my judgement may be way off. And when it's rough it's a lottery. Would those cheep yellow ones work in the sea ok ?

Nah not IN the sea, could cause a few issues!

But at sea no problems as you have unobstructed 'view' to satellites, but if ya got a high sensitivity jobbie it'd be good for the bush too.
