update, have been having a lot of coffie and generally boiling water for no reason and can report it works very well, If I had a small set of scales or it had a longer hose I could weigh it as it fills but it is no biggy to disconnect and weigh, if you overfill just connect a stove and turn on without lighting till it stops spitting.

I've recently purchased a Toaks titanium 750ml pot. Its the perfect size to fit a 110gm gas canister and my little fantail stove along with a dish cloth and a bic lighter.

Nice compact and light and simple little setup. Used it on the hill a couple of times this morning to make hot drinks for mate and myself.

    Very happy with it.

Im also refilling the canisters from 9kg gas bottle with a adapter hose from aliexpress, just had to change the fitting that goes into the 9kg bottle. Works bloody mint.

I had an old bbq regulator lying around, so i cut the end off and slid the fitting off, and replaced the one on the hose adaptor. The fittings on the hose adaptor from Aliexpress just screw apart, i needed a small amount of heat to loosen the locktight on one thread, but it was all pretty straight forward.

I've made several alcohol stoves out of Al drink bottles from warehouse. cost $6.00ea when on special. Take about 30min to make and weigh about 40gm.
I use side jet design and boil a cup of water in 2-3min and a litre in 9min. when I boil up a cup I put in only 10mls meths.

Yep similar to me. Got a tiny MSR cooker (its lasted years), and a 1L GSR pot that the cooker, a lighter, knife.forf etc all fit into. Way lighter and less bulky than a jetboil. Nearly as efficient.

An associate brought a Kovea on a trip and I was very impressed with its out put for its size.
I haven't tried the other two but the Kovea Titanium is what I use and as you say it's heat output is really good.

I don't really understand the fascination with boiling water in 1.5 minutes or 2 minutes or 3 minutes. Other than fuel efficiency I wouldn't mind if it takes 5 minutes to boil. I'm certainly not going to bother about waiting an extra 30 seconds. To me it's all about having a nice small kit.

You will get about 2 threads into the bottle before the missmatched pitch jams it. I ground the rest of the threads off also take the rubber seal off as it wont open the valve in the bottle. It will still seal perfectly.

Heres my Toaks Titanium 750ml pot with fold up fantail stove and 110gm canister. Definitely lighter and more compact than a Jetboil, and more versatile.

Probably isn't a big deal for most people. Mountaineers are usually the ones most interested in that, because time waiting for a brew/hot feed is time getting cold and not moving. Plus when you're melting snow for drinking water the cooker output makes quite a difference.
