    Day hunt clothing gear list

What clothing does everyone take with them for a day hunt at this time of year ?
    Base , insolation , outer shell ?
Do you still plan for the worst that nature will throw at you ?

Depends on location, went out last night in John bulls, macpac pants and a cactus t shirt (work clothes) that spot is only a 3Min walk from the car though

All depends on what type of hunt and where. But short story is always prepared. If it’s a still hunt with lots of glassing then I take more layers because sitting still is bloody cold. If on the move a lot stalking then I need less layers. I always have my rain jacket.

I like lists! After getting it wrong so many times, I try to cover most bases on long day hunts in the bush.

    What I wear:
    • Cap
    • Long sleeve
    • Shorts
    • Pants
    • Gators
    • Socks
    • Boots

    What I carry in addition:
    • Buff
    • Gloves
    • Down jacket
    • Goretex jacket
    • Fleece trousers

Might seem a bit excessive, but it all folds down pretty small. More camouflage and warmth for those situations where you're sat still waiting for animals to come out of the bush, and I'd rather have it for the unplanned overnighter. Also, gloves are great protection against sand flies!

Put it this way if you don’t have it ya can’t wear it
I get cold quick so I’m like Boosh here and take a bit.
Then if it goes pair shaped or I score one on the walk out I’m under not pressure to get out.
I’d rather cuddle up under a log than bust an ankle, leg stumbling around in the dark.

I respect your beliefs but don't impose them on me.
