Do not over complicate it.
The flight in saves the walk.
The hut replaces the tent.
Make changes for those and the rest is what you would stick on your back.
The weather will be the same, the hills will be as steep.
Enjoy it.

Before the chopper takes off FROM the hut check that the supplied gas bottle has gas in it.

very correct johnd and make sure before ya get in the truck you have your bolt ammo knife and toilet paper - we got to roadend Wanganui and mates bolt was still on kitchen table in Stratford

now theres a can of worms....got a mate was the most unorganised person you ever met.... one time he was throwing his kit together in the dark at the last minute and in his haste grabbed the bolt for his .22 instead of his 308.....didnt notice till after camp was set up...... or the time we flew into the oamaru , he booked it for "x" date but he was going to be stateside for a couple of weeks till 2 days before ....... forgot he would be crossing the dateline to get home , arrived at the airport got home threw his gear together got in his truck drove to helisika to make the fly in time......
