    Drones

I have been thinking of buying a drone for filming and reccy work.

Never had one and would think buying a usable cheapish one in order to learn a bit would be the go before I looked at a Dji Phantom or the like.

Follow me function is a must with a bit of range.

Anyone out there have experience with a good first buy?
I have seen a lot of drone footage pop up in members videos.

Would be good to film Ipsc practice and the like.

Bit pricey for a beginner. Would definitely look at it after a bit of experience using one.

A mate has not long got one, first drone. Super easy to fly. I'd never flown one before and within 5 mins I was into it. Press a button and it returns to home abd lands itself.

I'll go straight to the mavic when I get one.

Think gimp has the dji spark. Could practice crashing that before spending the folding on the mavic?

I don't think they make a west coaster proof one yet, let alone a fliable one by a hokitikarite....

However, don't penny pince because you do get what you pay for. The phantom should be your entry point.

    It's a gyro copter vers r22 vers 500 vers Apache type equation - the phantom is not a 22 but it's not a 500....
Please excuse spelling, as finger speed is sometimes behind brain spped........ Or maybe the other wayy.....

These new drones are quite a different user experience to the old RC choppers eh, they use to be bloody hard to control and newbies crashed and destroyed them in seconds of getting off the ground.

The likes of the DJI Mavic and most of DJI and other more expensive drones have sensors and electronic wizardry for Africa.

Even flying in strong wind the electronics work their magic and stablilise everything. Bloody incredible how much techo stuff is in a little package.

Heres a little video i made of my mate flying his new Mavic that he'd had for only a few hours.
