The only reason they say they season their cast ironware with vege oil (both recommended oils are from GM crops from overseas) is so that they can appeal to the Vegan/vegetarian types out there, whereas mankind has been cooking proper food (i.e. meat) in cast iron for at least since 220 AD.....long before soy and canola oil were a 'thing'.
Forgot to post a pic of inside the oven, haven't done anything with it sense last post
