Thread: garmin 62s

Hi i have just purchased a garmin 62s second hand off trade me.
it turned up and was in good condition like was said so very happy.

The main reason i am starting this thread is i need help, it came with topo maps on sd
and the problem i have is i cannot get it to show me the contour lines on the maps.

this is one of the main reasons i bought this.

can anyone help explain what i need to do to show these lines?

go to map setup and see is topomaps is enabled

i have tryed enableing topo and disabling all other options aswell but still no luck

got me stuffed if your topo is enabled then you should have contour lines. i cant find any other setting that would effect the contour lines.

Did you try the shaded relief setting I mentioned?

Hi just a quick update, when i went hunting today with a mate i borrowed his sd card with topo maps on it, i inserted it but still no lines.
I then adjusted the shaded relief and disabled a fiew other maps had a general play and the lines then came up!!
I have no idea what i did exactly because i had only done things i had previously tried.
I then inserted my sd card and everything worked exactly the way it should!?

So on the down side i don't how i fixed it
On the up side its now fixed and working

Go to Garmin site support and download a manual.
The GPSs have functions that the quickstart guide doesnt cover.
