    Good deals on Ali Express.

I'm looking for links to good deals on Ali Express, I was looking around the site before and it seems a bit hit and miss.

Reading some of the posts on here people have done well with knives and LRF's.

I'm not really looking for anything specific just trying to figure out what the options are, whats worth importing vs buying local?

It depends on whether you're lucky on the day. Delivery times vary enormously,in some instances things just don't ever materialize or take weeks after deadline. I've had both happen. A set of left and right handle bar switches for a harley took many weeks to arrive and when they did, they turned out to be both left switches. I have subsequently written the purchase off as a bad joke, as the only reply I get is an automated response. The same run around on a pair of boots and brake linings. Very many items on TM these days are sourced from Ali Express and marked up 300%.You take your chances...

I've only ever had one no show, and that was because the label on the package got torn, possibly in a mail handling machine. Got a full refund.

I'd say a large percentage of anything requiring precise machining, and to be robust, is not going to be good on Aliexpress. Rings, scopes, bipods come to mind here.

I've had a AR15 handguard from Aliexpress that worked just fine (I did not use the supplied barrel nut, as I did not want to die), as well as things like gun cases, shooting mats.

At the other end of the scale are Maxtoch lights, which seem to buck the trend of cheap and nasty product on Aliexpress.

Light bars, torches, head lamps, 25gm gas cooker, VW headlight switch, car light bulbs, 3f ul tent, trekking pole, ul tent pegs, paracord, tent guys ropes, some clothing, kids toys, Shimano bike parts and other stuff have all been good purchases for me and a hell of a lot cheaper than buying here.
I have also had some not so good purchases so it is a bit of a gamble.
It pays to read the reviews of the product and also try and find other reviews on line for some more expensive purchases like tents etc. Most stuff isn't going to be top of the line, (Mactoch seems to be the exception) but certainly good for the price you pay.

Expect plenty of emails from them.... And any sellers that you use. Both as part of your purchase and future advertising

Light bars are now being turned down on WOF due to no "E" numbers. Not sure what they are but means I have to take mine off or wire them for off road use only.

Have also heard that any extra lights need to be in pairs... Have heard that a strip of insulation tape down the middle of the light bar separates it into a pair!

Needed some tera hooks so grabbed these- $10 landed for a dozen.

Hooks seem fine, I just put a drop of superglue on the bindings to make sure the flasher bit doesn't move.

happened to a mate in OZ with the same logic. he had a pair with a single lamp in the middle. Copper busted him and made him disconnect the middle jobby.
I get that it probably references back to headlights and not having one out but a light bar..Thats just stupid. @timattalon isn't that ridiculous. Before you had them hooked up to the main beams so they would turn of when you dip your lights? Now I suppose you can have them turned on anytime you like. That's stupidity as well.
