I use rechargeable batteries in my 60CSX.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

I used 2500mAh Energizer Rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride batteries.

With the back light set to the lowest brightness, screen shut down set to 15 seconds and battery save set to activate on screen shut down, I'd get about 20 hours use on a set.

I always carried three sets with me in my day pack.

    Cheers

There's a lesson I learnt the hard way. Being in the bush at night without the GPS to tell me were camp was wasn't very fun. And the battery's in the camera didn't have enough juice to turn on the GPS either.

I did a similar thing a while back, camp was on a bench in the bush.
Heading back cold wet in the dark i got to the point where i thought"must have overshot" turned on the etrex and i had over shot by 150m followed my boot prints back and if i had of looked that way i would have seen my tent in the head lamp lol. Internal gps is generally pretty good but i was obviously too keen to get to camp being wet and frozen to the core.

Note, please don't let this photo of the screen be a reflection of product quality. Just posted it for P38 to show the stuff I use for a screen protector. Bit lazy when I applied it so has a bit of air under it. Super tough though, razor blade struggles to damage it.

Hi guys, To save starting a new thread. I am looking at replacing my PocketPC with a GPS reciver that is around 8 years old now - Touch screen with a SRIFFIII chipset and Memory Map had great accuracy and detail. I am looking at replacing it with a Garmin 62SC for $599 with that hunting and fishing special with Fresh Maps. What is the quality of map like with Fresh map?
