Old thread, but worth keeping alive.
A few months ago I stopped in at Squires Manufacturing in Taihape. Had a chat with Shane, and ordered half a dozen black shearing singlets and an oilskin coat. I wanted the singlets a bit shorter than usual and something else on the jacket changed. This was no worries, as the items would be made to order. Shane sent the gear when it was done, and I couldn’t be happier. Got a coat for my father also, and he is most pleased.

Removable hood, really nice warm lining, and will wear in nicely.

Great company. Shane made me a western saddle 52 years ago. His shop was on the Main Street of Taihape then. Who would have known his son would end up being a gun dealer

Shout out to the owner of Hunting and Fishing, Gisborne. I had to claim on an optical instrument I bought off Trade Me second hand. He arranged the warranty repair immediately and contacted me twice on the same day to get it all in order. Best warranty service Ive ever had.

I got one of their fleece lined canvas gun bags 30 odd years ago and it is still as good as new. Very good quality.

See Cactus has taken a lot of there manufacturing off shore which is a shame. Love there gear but would rather support nz made. I am sure the quality is still up there tho. Have had there packs and gaiters for years no wear and tear showing at all. Think there down products and most clothing is off shore but packs ect still made here. Will be a wear on earth down puffer for me next time 👍

And remember not all Swazi clothing is made in NZ - Thailand as well. Still their Kiwi stuff is solid.

That Pathfinder chest rig looks handy. And reasonably priced.

Yeah, he makes great canvas bags. Have one of his small duffel bags for all my tie downs and slings etc.
