Knew that would happen eventually. Their revenue would drop to nothing after a while. Someone trying on the boots at a local H&F store to check sizes probably mentioned something and H&F probably complained to LOWA NZ.

Simple as....will never again buy a LOWA product. If they have sour grapes and that's crap. How about meeting the price and making sales instead of crying about it.

Will others put up a post on the LOWA NZ facebook page?

Well that's shit. So much for the idea of free market capitalism huh? Pretty poor show from Lowa and the NZ distributor can get fucked. Will be writing them an email tomorrow saying "If you think that by preventing a website overseas from shipping here will mean that I'll buy them from you you are out of your mind. Well done, won't be buying anything from Lowa ever again. Nice one, you just cost your supplier a customer, do you want to email them and complain about that or shall I?"

Kiwi companies are a huge fan of capitalism until it bites them in the arse and then it's not fair.

Wasn't me haha.. They thought were getting a sale I'm sure! To be honest though the mark up on these products sickens me and yeah yeah yeah retails doing it tough and they need to pass on gst and freight and overheads, whatever. Call me Scrouge McDuck but I even ask what the beat price they could do at H +F and full retail was it.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, I don't mind paying for service when I get some. As a general rule service in NZ is shit. I have fuck all sympathy for retailers who pull that bullshit line, everybody is doing it tough, what makes them so special? Want me to choose you over somebody overseas, offer me something they can't, decent service and support, if I'm probably not going to get it from an overseas company but if it's cheaper than what a kiwi is offering and their service is shite why should I pay more? Workshop Innovations, Outdoor Supplies in Carterton, Waitaki Engineering and NZAR15 get my business because they do offer good service.

Anyway, it looks like my order left before myhuntingshop.com got smacked so fingers crossed it should be arriving soon. I've also emailed both Lowa NZ and Lowa international and told them both exactly what I think of them. I've got no time for monopolys at all, I think they fly completely in the face of capitalism and if we are going to continue with such a screwed up system then i'm going to be doing my best to screw them as much as they are trying to screw me.

I would if I had facebook, left that thing at the start of the year. What was the reply from the UK agent?

No doubt the NZ agent is some small man with a bucket of self entitlement.

It all went off line about 11pm nz time Monday, the LOWA products started dropping off the site, it got down to one pair of boots and then the LOWA category was removed, so I called the shop in Germany to get the goss, then I posted that bad news on the old green forum... Seems to have gone a little viral...

Spent a few hours tonight and found several other options to get them out of Europe, there's a lot of inconsistencies for size and colour and WXL is rare in a men's....

But.... F*ck em, it wasn't easy but I sourced a pair of Tibet GTX WXL in my size tonight from Europe for €199 including shipping ($315nzd)

If anyone wants a hand with any of the options I found, if they pm me the size they are after and prove they are not connected to a reseller/distributor I'm more than happy to point them in the right direction

Interesting bit in the national press which relates to this Lowa (and others) bit of anti-competitiveness:

Warehouse selling Ikea shows the power of parallel importing | Stuff.co.nz

Particularly relates to this quote from Mark Powell: "The classic area, I would say in New Zealand. is sporting goods ... It's a very controlled channel and I think the prices are higher than they should be."

They would pass on my concerns to Germany ... but at least its out there also got likes from other countries ... social media is a very effective way of getting a message across and cannot be manipulated like other media such as Murdoch's NEWS Corp .. and NZ TV News channels who are really only mouth pieces for Right leading Governments ...

Chances are its happening in other countries as well. Agree on the media as well. Haven't had a reply to either one of my emails yet, I'm half surprised I didn't get one from the kiwi distributor giving me a sob story about his rights and the like. If I do get one I'll be sure to post it here and my reply which will no doubt be a lot more swear words than my original (which featured none).
