Thread: Hexamine Tablet Cookers

Some sporks are better equipped than others!
Originals are a hybrid of a spoon and fork.
There are really good Tribrids of a spoon/fork and knife at great prices. Trouble is, the Tribrids don't come with instructions and I've never figured out how to use the fork and knife at he same time!

Just stumbled on this old thread. Don't know why they'd confiscate the cooker @Dundee - there is no fume residue to worry about with hexamine (I witnessed "them" confiscate the empty container off a petrol cooker off a hapless backpacker in 2004). Maybe it was the sharp edges - could be argued to be a weapon if you detach one of the wings and palm it!

Hexamine btw is a precursor to RDX, a smell-free component of Semtex and C4, so if you buy too many of them in the UK shop owners are meant to make a call to the Home Office. Hexamine has also been used orally since the late 1800s against urinary tract infections. It's the lightest of all carry option for cooking (gas canisters weigh the same as their content for instance!). Hexamine is best for just making a brew as the flame is hard to control for simmering. And then there's the no-indoor-use problem. The soot, no problem as long as you know which side of the pot you eat from. (-:
