I just use Vitasport electrolyte rehydration which you can get at countdown. pretty cheap and does the trick for me. Taste good too.

Energey gels can be got from Torpedo 7 etc - their a bit pricy at $3.99 each I like the coffee flavoured ones. Keep them in the pouches on my packs belt so I can grab one while on the go without taking the pack off.

Thorzt Hydration Sugar Free Solo Shots
    are our go to.
About a dollar each in bulk. Used to use the Vitasport ones, but these are far less bulky and seem to work better.
    YMMV

I drink heaps of these at work, I dont work physically hard but next to a boiler , often mid 40s and high humidity Im sure I would be dead without them.

I just use the vitasports too. Cheap, probably a bit of sugar in them but does the job. That only really supplements occasionally when I feel like I need it. the majority of my intake is just water. I worry more about being fit and physically prepared in the first place.

There good, used to use both when doing triathlons and marathons.

Use for hunting when doing the hills with packs.

Some of the Energy tubes eg GU are bloody high in caffeine. Can be a bit hard on your guts if sensitive.

I chuck a couple of spoonfulls of poweraide powder in the bladder and make sure i have some 1000mg magnesium tablets in the first aid kit.

that scan of the homebrew looks legit, will give it a go.
