    Hey Bryn,
    those Range jackets are pretty bulky and will take up quite a bit of space in your day pack. The more hunting you do the less you'll want to carry with you.
    I would recommend using a light weight waterproof jacket, one that you can stuff in the bottom of your bag.

    I got a black Scott Base one from Hallenstiens for under $100 which has done the trick so far. It's not 'silent' like the hunting style jackets.
    Honestly I don't need to use it much only using it when it's really pouring, the rain noise covers any extra noise created by the jacket.
    Something like that might be a good first choice and something you might have at home like it already.

    I know the temptation to buy camo everything but go practical.
    Just remember some of the older guys on the forum started hunting in loin cloths with spears so anything you buy/borrow/aready-have will be better than that.

    Shes a mean coat to mate keeps me dry in the west coast showers, just needs to be little longer and would be ideal
