Have you had it fitted and are you using the correct size harness?
Have Cactus Hector and it's the best thing I've ever bought, super tough, comfortable and well thought out and its still under 3kg. I chew through all sorts of gear but can't see me ever moving on from the Hector.

Same with most cactus products I've used

Yep. When I brought it I measured twenty times first, great design, ruggedness and simplicity and hoped it would be the last pack I buy. I have a huntaway as well that is brilliant and was the main reason for going for the foray but it's just not working for me.

I picked one up last sale. I have the pro lt 4000. It's mint. Carries weight super well, is simple but well organised and the load shelf. Is awesome. Keeps the heavy loads hard against your back.

Definately the best pack I've owned. I picked it up on sale and landed it was like a shade under $700. I'll pick up the 90l when next on sale.

I have been using a Kuiu Pro 7800 for 5 years and rate it highly for comfort. It’s well made and light. I see lots of packs in a role I have taking 20 people every year into the Wilderness in Sweden and also rate the Tatonka range. Many packs I see don’t have the ability to adjust well. Both Kuiu and Tatonka do that well. I imagine there are many good packs out there but I can speak for Kuiu.

I don’t know anyone who dislikes their kuiu pack. I’d get one but i’m very happy with my Osprey which cost me a lot less so not worried. I looked at cactus just to get a 55L size when my old macpac got chewed by my pup. I was gobsmacked at how expensive they are so never went that way.

I recently replaced my Macpac Cascade with a Mystery Ranch Marshall, The Macpac has always been comfortable & a great workhorse for me but a bit of a pain packing out an animal.

My new Mystery Ranch pack is next level, pricey but i have no regrets spending the money, I researched all the other brands & am happy i went this way.
It is heavier than the Kuiu, stone glacier, Eberlestock packs due to heavier materials so i'm hoping it'll be a bit tougher, has all the typical hunting pack features like carbonfiber frame & separate load shelf for meat & once you own the frame you can attach different size packs to it etc...

Bought from Safari supplies in NZ so that was also a factor for me.

Thanks @Sika 8 definitely worth a look. Cheers

I have the older version of the exo called the K2 2000 day pack/overnighter. If the new design is as comfortable as the older one then there won't be another pack brand for me. The new design looks fantastic (exp water bottle holder). Designed to carry weight on the hips and is modular (meat shelf) I looked at reviews of kuiu and exo before I cryed once (maybe twice lol) and most pointed towards exo. Both top quality!

I'm curious about this set up. Don't need but quite like.

Light day pack option and shelf for load capacity appeals.

My scenario is not many over nighters but lots of long days shooting pests and occasionally popping a deer and needing to carry it, or evening hunts when I don't need much gear but end up with some big loads.

The frame and the 2500 Vapor (40 litre) look a good set up.

I currently have an Outdoorsman which is good enough and has done a lot of hard work...I should be happy.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.
