    Leica bino repair experience

My geovids are no longer under warranty and got broken over the weekend...

anyone have experience with Leica repairs? is it expensive?

the binos are old so am wondering if its worth it.

    Cheers

Had my geovids fog last year, they were within warranty but I got charged for the repair because the hinge plate had a dent in it (from 10 years of living in my daybag) and the factory deemed this "fall damage" cost around $450. Not cheap but cheaper than a new set. Took around 4 months to get them back and have just noticed a major crack in one of the eyepieces bugger it.

I got mine serviced a few years ago, the rubber coating was coming off. I got them second hand, and were well out of warranty, contacted Lacklands and they were happy to deal with it. I shipped them up to them and they sent them off.

They got a service with a few things fixed/replaced, rubber amour repaired and returned to me, all I had to pay was shipping to Lacklands.
